Project Details: vodafone Ireland corporate HQ at Mountainview Leopardstown was a particularly challenging project.The Vodafone icon is an internationally recognized brand and maintaining its integrity was an essential part of the brief.A Two Metre tall stainless steel
illuminated logo being fixed 4 stories up to a building clad in terracotta tiles presented some interesting challenges. Fixing to terracotta tile was not an option so it was decided to strip an area of the tile, build a steel sub structure behind the tile and have four steel
fixing points projecting through the tiled surface. Illumination was also an interesting challenge, initially the proposal had been to back light the sign itself, however after due consideration of the maintenance issues that would arise it was decided to opt for a beam of light shining upwards (search light style) onto the icon.
Team work between Branding, Architectural Team, Main Contractor, Electrical and Steel Sub Contractors were an essential part of this project.
